This week we’re proud to say that we’ve translated Matthew Vaughn’s very entertaining Kingsman: The Secret Service and the rather terrifying Woman in Black 2.

Birdman became the great winner at the 2015 Oscars, and on Danish silver screens the exploits of Michael Keaton and his former alter ego was subtitled by Scandinavian Text Service. Birdman won for Best Picture, Cinematography, Directing and Original Screenplay.

Other feature films that were subbed by us were also awarded with golden statuettes: Julianne Moore won as Best Actress in a Leading Role for Still Alice, while J.K. Simmons took home the Oscar for Best Actor in a Supporting Role for Whiplash. Whiplash also won for Film Editing, and Sound Mixing.

Best Animated Feature was Big Hero 6, while Wes Andersons Grand Budapest Hotel won for Costume Design, Makeup and Hairstyling, Original Score and Production Design. The Imitation Game won for Best Adapted Screenplay and Martin Luther King Jr. biopic Selma won for Best Song. All in all, films subtitled by Scandinavian Text Service received 14 Oscars and 41 additional nominations, although we probably won’t get to display any golden Oscars on our shelves in the old office …
